Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time for tour news.
1. By Mara, Anna Beth, Amanda and Rachel. - Our host mom was a very nice lady, but we had some minor issues. After hauling our cumbersome loads of luggage for 4 blocks, our host mom realizes we had passed her car 2 blocks back. So we turn around, shoulders cramping, backs aching, and made it back to her car that was right beside the sidewalk we were just on. After finally pulling out, we stop at a red light. Two bicyclist pass directly in front of us. Then just as a third cyclist is crossing immediately in front of us, she presses the gas and nearly takes out the cyclist. She then slams the brakes and acts like nothing happened. She tells us on our way that it takes 15 minutes to get to her house. Twenty five minutes later, we arrive after driving 22 mph for about half the way. She then tells us that we will need to leave at 7:15am in the morning, when she had just told us it takes 15 minutes to get there. " Oh well we need time to unload our stuff and everything." So we had to wake up and leave early 45 minutes early. She had a cat which Mara and Amanda are allergic to. It made a grand entrance by running out from the table and scaring us all. Besides all that, it was a great stay ( and we got snacks...the end)
P.S. The next morning we were woken up at 6:07 am (OMG!) by the bright over head light being flipped on. "Ok ladies ...it's 20 after 6, you have an hour." our host mother said then left. We just looked at each other and shook our heads. The End
2. By Jim and Dillon - Steve and Dana and there two kids are a perfectly normal family. They have two golden labs, which take all the attention they can get, their daughter is considering music education and their son is focused on sports and food. Perfectly normal, right? Yet, in this house a dark secret looms. Their cat, a normally sweet being, has a neurological disorder. The disorder causes the cat to go absolutely crazy for ten minutes straight after it eats breakfast. For those ten minutes nobody was safe. The dogs cowered by their owner, barely letting Dana walk, the children were no where to be found. Thus, Dana and Steve, became the ultimate targets. The cat ran around the house like its tale was on fire and as soon as it got to Dana it bit her on the leg immediately drawing blood.
Now you may think that this cat sounds scary, however, it had nothing on the beast that our third family warned us about, which was lurking in the woods behind their house. The "fisher cat" they warned us about was apparently a mix between a badger and a bear. It had enormous fangs and would scream like a dying woman in the woods. Needless to say, we locked the windows and closed the blinds that night.
The screams of this beast scared their cat so badly that it waddled out of the room, which begins another story. On the car ride to their house we were told that they have a fat house cat, oh what an understatement. This cat was perfectly round and the size of a large wrecking ball. We succeeded in getting it to play with a toy for 30 seconds before it was completely exhausted and retired back to its foodbowl. On the way to bed I whispered to it, "Jenny Craig does wonders," and ended the night in our room. The End.
